As well as the two I analysed i also watched a number of other music videos with different genres and conventions.
Gorrilaz- Feel good inc
In this video the artist does not show their face at all. The cideo is made up of animated versions of band members. The video is quite confusing and makes little sense. It is an abstract and technical video. Another video simular to this is Daft Punk- One more time.
Fat Boy Slim- Praise You
This video is also very abstract and does not include the artist at all. It makes not sence and has nothing to do with the lyrics at all, it is simply a lot of people dancing and running around.
The Killers- Mr Brightside
This video illistrates Steve Archer's theory that music videos will cut between narrative and performance. In most of it they are perfoming, but in some they are not.
JLS-Beat Again
This video is the same the whole way throgh. It simply focuses on the artrist and has nothing to do with the lyrics. The band members are singing all the way through and do dance moves that that are sycronised with the music.
The Clash- London Calling
This video is the band performing the song the whole way through, but it is set in the place that the song is about which links the video to the lyrics.
Britney Spears- Womanizer
This video doesnt tell a story but what happens in the video links to the lyrics about a man being a womanizer.
